  1. Listen to them.

First of all, you can’t run from negative feedback, you have to face the issue.  Deleting or blocking negative feedback will only aggravate the situation. Instead, try to know what people are mad about:  Are they not satisfied with your products/services, or they feel you misled them about your experience?  Take time to listen to what they are saying and see how you can resolve it. Feedback even it is negative can be a great tool for improvement, but you have to listen first.

  1. Respond carefully and calmly.

One of the biggest blunders you can do is to respond when you feel heated yourself. So, read and digest the comments first, pause for a moment to formulate your response and when you’re composed and can stand behind what you’ve written, click the “send” button. Saying something in the heat of the moment is bad business, particularly on the internet– even if you delete your comment later, screenshots can easily be taken. So be careful!

  1. Be Ready to Apologize or Defend yourself.

Be ready to admit your mistake if you said or did something that was really offensive. Step outside of your experience, recognize that you hurt people, and apologize. However, if the negative social media feedback is totally unreasonable, you can defend yourself! But remember that you don’t want to rile them further.
